Know Your Obligations
Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, landowners — including commercial property owners, developers and site managers — bear legal responsibility for the removal of fly-tipped waste from their land, regardless of who deposited it.
Councils can issue a fixed penalty notice of up to £50,000 for failure to clear fly-tipped waste, and prosecution can follow. For active development sites, the reputational and programme risks are equally significant.
Fixed Penalty Notices
Local authorities can issue FPNs of up to £50,000 to landowners who fail to remove fly-tipped waste within a set timeframe.
Duty of Care
You must ensure waste is removed by an EA-licensed carrier and obtain a Waste Transfer Note. Unlicensed removal is a criminal offence.
Time-Critical
Fly-tipped waste attracts more fly-tipping. Early, documented removal is the most cost-effective response.
Development Sites at Risk
Vacant plots, pre-demolition sites and perimeter land are primary targets. Westminster Waste provides rapid response across London.

Our Process
We attend your site to assess the nature and volume of the fly-tipped waste. Hazardous materials are identified and segregated at this stage.
Our licensed team removes all waste using the appropriate vehicles and handling procedures. CCTV or site photography provided on request.
All waste is processed at our licensed 6.2-acre MRF in South London. Full Waste Transfer Notes and disposal documentation issued.
We can advise on preventative measures — skip placement, fencing and signage — to deter repeat fly-tipping on your land.
