Overview:
Westminster Waste was proud to partner with Go Green on the glass roof replacement project at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. Our team provided efficient and environmentally responsible waste management services, tailored to meet the challenges of this high-profile site.

Innovative Solution:
This project was unique due to the clientโ€™s commitment to achieving a complete circular economy on all waste streams, specifically focused on the glass removed from the museum’s roof. Westminster Waste supplied a number of RORO containers for the collection and recycling of glass, along with a segregated skip for rubber gaskets from the window frames. The segregation of materials allowed us to ensure that all the glass was fully recycled while the rubber gaskets were recovered.

Key Achievements:

  • Successfully managed waste removal at one of Londonโ€™s most prestigious heritage sites.
  • Delivered on the client’s sustainability goals by achieving a complete circular economy for all glass waste.
  • Recycled 124.41 tons of glass, contributing to environmental conservation.
  • Recovered non-recyclable materials, including rubber gaskets, ensuring responsible waste handling.

Project Success:
This collaboration on the National Maritime Museum project exemplifies Westminster Wasteโ€™s ability to provide tailored, eco-friendly waste management solutions. By focusing on material recovery and recycling, we ensured that the project not only met but exceeded its sustainability targets. This project serves as a clear example of how Westminster Waste can support clients in delivering successful, environmentally conscious outcomes.

It is always a challenge when a client asks for complete circular economy on a waste stream, especially when the site in question is as high profile as The National Maritime Museum. The fully glazed roof of said museum, no less. However, we are delighted that Westminster Waste has, indeed, achieved that goal on all of the glass removed from the museum site. It is with great pride that Go Green can call Westminster Waste a waste partner.
