We Handle Every
Construction Stream

Understanding your waste types is crucial for effective management and compliance. Westminster Waste is PAS 402 certified and EA licensed — ensuring all material is correctly identified, segregated, and processed in line with current regulations.

Inert Waste

Concrete, bricks, tiles and ceramics — crushed and processed into recycled aggregates for new construction.

Mixed Construction Waste

Wood, glass, plastic and metal streams segregated on-site or at our MRF for maximum recovery.

Hazardous Waste

Asbestos, solvents, oil-based paints and POPs — handled under EA licence with full consignment note trail.

Recyclable Materials

Metals, timber, and plastics routed directly to specialist reprocessors, displacing virgin materials.

Excavation & Spoil

Soils, hardcore and inert fill removed by tipper or RORO — weighed and documented at our licensed facility.

Waste Removed
Client: Morrisroe Year: 2024 Construction & Demolition

Overview

Westminster Waste partnered with Morrisroe on the demolition phase of Minerva House, providing efficient and environmentally responsible waste removal tailored to the challenges of the site clearance.

Innovative Solution

This project was unique in using London's waterways for delivery and removal. Containers were transported from Plaistow Wharf by barge along the Thames to Minerva House at London Bridge, then crane-lifted onto the demolition site for loading. Once filled, waste was transported back to our Belvedere facility for recovery and recycling — significantly reducing HGV movements through central London.

Key Achievements

  • Successfully removed waste from a challenging demolition site in Central London
  • Minimised disruption to surrounding areas by reducing heavy road transport
  • Utilised London's waterways to lower carbon emissions and traffic congestion
  • Supported the client's sustainability goals by recovering and recycling waste at our facility

Our Minerva House project is a fantastic example of how partnerships between long term supply chains can work to provide effective and innovative solutions to demolition and construction projects in Central London.

Glass Recycled
Client: Go Green Year: 2024 Construction

Overview

Westminster Waste partnered with Go Green on the glass roof replacement project at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, providing efficient and environmentally responsible waste management for this high-profile heritage site.

Innovative Solution

The client's commitment to achieving a complete circular economy on all waste streams — specifically the glass removed from the museum's roof — drove an innovative segregation approach. Westminster Waste supplied RORO containers for glass collection and recycling, alongside a dedicated skip for rubber gaskets from the window frames, ensuring 100% material recovery.

Key Achievements

  • Successfully managed waste removal at one of London's most prestigious heritage sites
  • Delivered on the client's sustainability goals with a complete circular economy for all glass waste
  • Recycled 124.41 tonnes of glass, contributing to environmental conservation
  • Recovered non-recyclable materials including rubber gaskets, ensuring responsible waste handling

It is always a challenge when a client asks for complete circular economy on a waste stream, especially when the site in question is as high profile as The National Maritime Museum. We are delighted that Westminster Waste has achieved that goal on all of the glass removed from the museum site.
